Programs and Events

The Recreation Division offers youth, teen, and adult programs at the Golf Course, Ice Rink, Aquatic Center and other facilities throughout Los Alamos County. Special events are held throughout the summer at various locations. We also coordinate various contract instructor programs such as dance, volleyball, basketball, exercise and fitness, martial arts, softball, swimming and running.

Fall Horse Play Day (Oct. 7, 2023)

Come out and play with us...and bring your horse (real or wooden)!

Los Alamos County Recreation Division in Partnership with the Los Alamos Pony Club is hosting a Fall Horse Play Day on Oct. 7, from 1pm - 4pm, at the North Mesa Rodeo Arena.

We will have various activities for all ages.

Fee is $15 per competitor for all events, participants can purchase tickets online or in person at the Aquatic Center. Be sure to bring your ticket/receipt on the day of the event.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Event (Oct. 14, 2023)

On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. It will be 90% visable in Los Alamos!
To celebrate this scientific event, join us for a viewing of the solar eclipse at the Los Alamos High School Courtyard from 9am - 1pm.

This FREE event will provide free eclipse glasses, projection of the eclipse on Los Alamos County's LED outdoor screen, activities, and more.
