WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU CALL 911?

When you call 911, we will ask for your location and phone number, as well as a series of questions, to ensure that the appropriate responders are sent to handle the emergency. It is vital that you remain on the line with a dispatcher and answer all questions! While the dispatcher is gathering information, another dispatcher is sending the police or fire department.

WHERE IS THE CDC LOCATED?

We are located at 2500 Trinity Drive, Suite A. This is on the corner of Trinity and Oppenheimer, and on the corner of Central and Oppenheimer. The Parking lot is best accessed off of Central.

WHAT DOES OUR CONSOLIDATED DISPATCH CENTER DO?

We dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire and EMS in Los Alamos County. We also dispatch calls for animal control, and after hours power and utility issues. Our Dispatch center is comprised of 12 highly trained, highly qualified dispatchers ready to take your call.

DISPATCHER CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSING:

Our minimum certifications and licensing for dispatchers include Healthcare Provider CPR, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and Police Radio Dispatch. Our dispatchers belong to the Association of Public Communications Officials (APCO), the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).
