The Recreation Division offers youth, teen, and adult programs at the Golf Course, Ice Rink, Aquatic Center and other facilities throughout Los Alamos County. Special events are held throughout the summer at various locations. We also coordinate various contract instructor programs such as dance, volleyball, basketball, exercise and fitness, martial arts, softball, swimming and running.

Come one, come ALL for the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series! Free outdoor concert for all, complete with food court, games, and beer garden. Artist line up will be announced after April 15th.

Swimmers, runners, beginning multi-sport athletes, seasoned triathletes, or anyone interested con participate in this group training event! There is no course support, so participants assume all risk and responsibility. Please exercise good judgment, watch out for cars at all times, and have FUN!

Registration begins at 6:30pm and closes at 6:55pm. First swimmer is sent off at 7:00pm.

Event is limited to the first 75 participants. Participants under the age of 18 must come prepared with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.


- 400 yard pool swim, 5K run long Canyon Road

- 200 yard pool swim, 3K run along Canyon Road

The Los Alamos Arts Council has teamed up with the Los Alamos Teen Center and PAC8 to introduce kids to the film industry and the cool things they can do with it. Students will show off their written, directed, and produced short films on the hour, every hour.

Stroll the Stables

Enjoy a walk around the stables with your family as part of the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo! Win prizes for collecting stamps on

the Stable Passport Guidebooks, learn about livestock care and safety, and participate in a virtual stock show. Afterwards, stay for day two of the Rodeo!

Los Alamos County Horse Exhibition - 8/20/2022

August 20, 2022: Come and strut your horsemanship at the County Horse Exhibition! This event is for all riders to showcase their horse and equestrian talents in Western and English styles. Winners receive prizes such as: t-shirts, buckles, and ribbons.

- Youth: 9 & under, 10 - 13, 14 - 18

- Adult: 19 & up
